Overview. This was a great spot to stretch our legs on our quick stopover in Poughkeepsie, New York. This bridge was converted from railroad tracks to walkway over a picturesque spot on the Hudson River with palisades on the west side, city on the east side, and the Mid-Hudson Bridge to the south.

Parking. Ample parking is available at the trailhead and this trail connects to a series of other urban trails around the river.

HIKER NOTE - Many Parks Nearby. There are several parks nearby to the north of this park that would be worth exploring on future trips including FDR’s historic home. The Hudson River Valley in extremely scenic whether it’s further up or downstream from Poughkeepsie.
