Cooling Arm Sleeves Actually Work

In the two week before Sheltowee Trace Ultras, I saw the forecast go from a high of 68 with clouds and rain to a high of 81 with clearing skies and sunshine. Hot sun is my running kryptonite because I’m a cold weather guy through and through, so I picked up some Adidas Arm Sleeves on Amazon as a kind of panic purchase.

To my delight, they actually worked!

The only problem was, I forgot to put them on until long after I was already hot and miserable.

Meh, next time, right?!

So, the sleeves are going to be a regular go-to item for anytime it’s going to be sunny and north of 70-degrees when I’m running or 80-degrees when I’m hiking sun-exposed routes.

And, while I bought them for the cooling action, they also provide SPF50 sun protection. I loathe sunscreen or any type of lotion, so having these as an option is very nice.

I already know I’ll have them on for the Flying Pig Marathon next week and will take them on vacation for my beach runs in Hilton Head. And then they’ll make another appearance in June when I run the 6 Hours of Power at General Butler State Park.

$13.80 well spent.

If you buy these, check to make sure you’re getting the right size.

Also, this was a last-minute pick-up with very little research. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were better options out there.
